We recently just got a puppy in my house. And she, eats, sleeps, eats, runs, eats, runs, sleeps, eats, eats, and eats. Typical puppy, right? Well we have two other dogs in my house as well and the smallest and oldest sometimes has a hard time finding the food bowl with out seeing the puppy standing over it. So we make ways for him to eat when shes out of the house or asleep.
Anyway, today i found him, our smalest trying to get into my bath tub. He could barely get his paws on the top of it let alone crwal in. I found it kinda funny like, one of those videos people take of their dogs and send into Americas Funniest Home Videos. But, once i realized he was trying to get into my tub to get water. I felt awful that I hadn't suppilied him with enough drinking water. So, I ran to the kitchen and got him a bowl of water to put in my room for him. He sat there and drank up what he wanted and found him a spot on my bed and fell right asleep.
And i know all of you are thinking, why is this girl telling me about her dog drink some water?
Well a thought hit me when i was watching him drink the water. He had to search the house for water because there wasn't any in the bowl where as i just walk into the kitchen and grab a glass out of the cabinet. It made me think, what about the kids that don't have running water in their house. It's not so simple to just get a glass of water then. What about the kids that live on the streets, the ones that don't have a place to call home? Or the children who don't have parents that can suport them and feed them, what do they do when they are thirsty? And the kids who live in 3rd world countrys, the ones living in poverty. The kids that people raise money for them to have a running well in their village. What will they do when that well breaks? And is it clean water? I'm sure it's not.

My whole thing is why do we take walking into the kitchen to get water for granted? What is that, 30 steps at the most? Where some people probably have to walk miles to get to clean water. We should be doing more to help those who can't do that. We all have so many great things in our lives that we don't think is a big deal, to us it's a small thing. When to others who are less fortunate than us it would be a big deal to have such nice luxuries.
All I'm trying to say is find a way to help out those without food and water. Because if it was you i'm sure you'd be thankful for the help. It doesn't have to be much, Donate to an organization or charity that helps people get clean water and food. Or drop a few cans of food off at your local food drive. If we all did small little things to help others more often it would have a huge impact!

That's just my thought of the day. Happy Martin Luther King day everyone!

Do it when you can. .

My Step Grandfather will be turning 70 tomorrow.

My grandfather has done so much for me, more than i will probably ever know. He's treated me as one of his own grandchildren, taken care of my family when we need it the most, taught me some of the greatest life leasons, and encourged me in everything i do.

Last night i attended a surprise party for him and i watched him blow out all 70 candles and people cry when he gave a toast and everyone love on this man more than i have ever seen in my life.
And at the end of the party i got to spend some time with him alone, we talked for several hours just catching up on the past few months. And as i sat there talking to him i realized i've never tolled him how much i really apprecaite him for everything he's done. Sadly, i didn't get another chance to tell him before i left town.

What i'm trying to say here is tell the people you love that you love them. Tell the people you care about that you care aboutt them. And thank all the people who have been there for you, before it's too late.

We shouldn't wait till ocasions like 70th birthdays to come up to tell someone that you think the world of them. We shouldn't wait till it's to late to let someone know how much you really do love them and thank them for everything they do for you.

So, I say to everyone who will ever read this, go out there and tell your parents, grandparents, aunts, unlces, friends, teachers, co-workers. Who ever they may be and thank them for everything they have ever done for you. Let them know how blessed you feel to have someone in their lives like you. Because i know i would like to hear that coming from you if i were them. And as for me, i'm writting my grandfather a letter to tell him all the things i wish i had said earlier.

I just wanted to share some of my excitment with ya'll.

I'm in some Amateur Photographers groups on facebook. They have new themes and contest every week and I try to enter as much as possible.
Anyway, the point to this story is that this week i entered this photo. I didn't win sadly, but i did get honorable mention! I've actually won with this photo before and i've won if not placed with several other pictures of mine.
So, i just wanted to share with that everyone. Even though it didn't win i'm still happy with the honorable mention. (:

Happy Holidays!

As we head into the Holiday season this week, we must prepare ourselves for Family, Food and Fun. The three F's for shorts.

But what really is the holiday season come to now? I mean way back when before my life time it was all about the three F's. Right? But now is it the same way? ... i think not. Yes, we still spend this time of year with our families normal around some sort of meal and yes, this may result in fun.

BUT my point is that it's much more than that now or, much less.

Our holidays have turned from religous dates, celebrating or memorials of something great into Shopping, Flying, Cooking, Comercials, Stores, Sales, and bad movies about families not getting along on the holidays.

Think about most or all holidays. Chirstmas has turned into a holiday all about media and not the birth of Jesus. I mean think about it.. all the commercails are about shopping, sales, and the newest, coolest, technology for your youngsters. But how many people theses days celebrate christmas for the real reason anymore? Now, if you don't celebrate christmas due to your religion don't take me wrong. i'm just trying to prove a point that the winter holidays aren't as much about the reall meaning anymore and it's all about buying, selling, and promotions.

Look at the fourth of July, which is celebrated for the independence of our country. Most people do this by having cookouts and setting off fireworks. which hey, don't get me wrong those are some of my favorite things. But how many of us these days actually spend time on 4th of July to think about the really reason for the holiday ? and it's not just an excuse to get together and blow stuff up.

I'm not trying to make anyone feel bad about the way you spend their holidays now. I'm guilty of some of this too. I'm just trying to put a thought out there in everyones mind that we need to make holidays more about their true meaning and less about their commercail status.

Courage the cowardly lion.

Courage: the qulity of mind or spirit the enables someone to face difficulty, danger, or pain.

Today, in my world history class we talked about "the tank man". For those of you who don't know, the tank man stood in front a line of a dozen Chinesse army tanks the day after a huge protest Beijing. We spoke about the courage this young man had to go infront of a dozen millitary tanks the day after a protest and stop them as they were in away celebrating their control down the streets. It is believed that this man was later killed for his rebelion. But this man had the courage to do something no one else did and to this day we still celebrate him and others like him.

Think about the civil rights movment. Students, young adults, Kids, whatever you want to call them were the ones going and doing the sit ins. They were the ones protesting and fighting for a change.

Okay, let me be a dork here now. For those Harry Potter fans out there think about his courage to fight "you-know-who". Harry, a young adult had more courage than most grown wizards. He wasn't afraid to fight Voldemort.

Courage comes from people my age, young adults. We're the ones who are out there changing the world. But what is sad to me is that i don't see anyone young having enough courage to step out of our boxes, away from our phones, off our facebooks, free of our ipods and making a differance in this world. We all need to have the courage to step up for something we believe in.

So, i challenge all of you, young, old, middle aged to go out and have courage to step up and make a change in this world. Cuase if we don't who will? and what if no one does? what will happen then?
